Sihanouk Ville

Sihanoukville is referred to as Cambodia’s Maldives. It is a well-known, stunning beach. The stunning scenery in this “country of pagodas” should not be missed if you have the chance to visit. When traveling to Cambodia, the mix of a blue sea, white clouds, golden weather, and intriguing activities creates a poetic but no less stimulating scene.

Here are some tips to help you get into the cultural beauty of the city even more!

Otres beach

Far about 7 – 8 km from Sihanoukville center, Otres Beach is a beach that appears unspoiled by commercialization and still maintains its original wild charm. Up to 3 km of fine white sand form a semicircle, and the sky and the beautiful blue ocean are both shades of blue.

Additionally, you can rent sailboats, kayaks, and windsurfers at the beach for your own personal use. Small fishing communities can be found all around the coast. You can visit to find out more about life as a fisherman if you’re interested.

Independence Harbor

In comparison to other sites, Independence Harbor sticks out further into the water. You will feel closer to the scorching sun from this vantage point as it slowly sets in the distance. In Sihanoukville, Independence Port is reputed to be the best place to watch the sun set.

Koh Rong Island and Koh Rong Samloem

It would be unfortunate if you skipped Koh Rong and Koh Rong Samloem islands during your trip to Sihanoukville. Both islands have stunning, unspoiled seascapes with crystal-clear blue water and fine, white beaches. There are several lovely resorts on the island, so you can spend a night there. What could be more lyrical than diving here to admire coral while watching the sunrise?

All kinds of seafood, including grilled lobster, steamed crab, grilled snails, and steamed squid. You can take part in a seafood BBQ party on the beach in the evening.

Nom Banh Chok

When visiting Sihanoukville, be sure to not forget this local delicacy that contains Cambodia’s national spirit. This meal is offered by mobile food vendors. A cart with a jar of white fish curry sauce on one end that is heavy in fat, sweet, and smoke and has an alluring aroma is the telltale indication of a curry noodle stall.

One location has a basket filled with fresh veggies like celery, lotus roots, cowpeas, banana flowers, lemon, chili, lemongrass, mint leaves, and banana blossoms.
