MEKONG DELTA TOUR FROM HO CHI MINH CITY

8:00 Pick up at your hotel and transfer to Cai Be boat station in Vinh Long city (about 10:00 AM). Greet and welcome you for embarking the boat.

Arrive in Cai Be, start the Mekong boat trip from there. Discover the village, house on stilts. 

• Continue cruising and visit a local workshop, where you can see things such as the coconut candy production process, pop rice, rice wine, snake wine, and more.  
•  
• Enjoy free samples of local delicacies and learn about the daily activities of the local Mekong people, especially: 

• Experience rowing a sampan (with the locals) along a small canal on Tan Phong Islet. Explore deeper into the countryside through smaller canals and enjoy the peaceful time under the shade of mangrove trees. Stop at a local garden to savor some fresh fruits with hot tea while listening to the traditional music.

• Start the biking trip on village paths to see the local daily life: orchard, school, church, pagoda, traditional houses… On the way, we can make some stops to see how they wave the dried water-hyacinth to make many products: baskets, bags, hats, wallets, shoes, etc. 

11:30 Back to our boat to go across one of the longest rivers in the world, Mekong River, to come to An Bình Island. 

Travel along the handmade canal to Ut Trinh home.  Enjoy an optional lunch at this traditional house.

13:30 After lunch, you can walk in the local village to visit the local workshop to see how to make rice paper, coconut candy, pop-rice… Enjoy some sweets with a cup of hot tea.

Take a boat ride along the mighty Mekong river to Vinh Long and Discover Vinh Long pottery kilns – the amazing traditional brick kiln and pottery. Where you can see how the local people create beautiful pottery from clay.

End the boat tour in Vinh Long & take the car to the hotel in Can Tho City.

7:00 Breakfast.

8:00 Transfer to to the boat wharf, board a boat to visit the best of Can Tho:

• The Cai Rang floating market, the largest and most vibrant wholesale floating market in the Mekong Delta. Try some of the fantastic noodles or traditional dishes, one-of-a-kind local cuisine, and fresh tropical fruits. Get a closer look at life on a boat and witness the colorful and lively scenes of trading and bargaining (the meals on boat are not included).
•  

• The local noodle factory (family business) to see how to make rice noodles in the traditional way demonstrated step by step. Then, Enjoy a special crispy “noodle pizza”.

11:30 Rests and enjoy your lunch with typical cuisine of the Mekong delta.

13:30 Return to the mainland and take a route to Lung Ngoc Hoang Nature Reserve (about one hour).  Here, tourists are taken by locals to visit by “tắc ráng” – a specific local sampan in the Mekong Delta.

• “Tắc ráng” will take you deep inside the melaleuca forest, through beautiful canals full of green duckweed.

• More specifically, you can also learn about the life of the people in the village through daily activities such as hooves, fishing,…
•  
• Arriving at the watchtower in the middle of the forest, admire the beautiful scenery of the vast fields, the dark green Melaleuca Forest running towards the horizon and enjoy the fresh and green air of the wild nature. 

17:30 End trip in Lung Ngoc Hoang – Hau Giang, back to Can Tho.

Free time for dinner overnight in Can Tho.

9:00 After breakfast, check out the hotel.

Visit Binh Thuy communal house.

Return to Ho Chi Minh City.
