Vang Vieng

A small town and a fantastic ecotourism spot that is located in the northern mountainous region of Laos. Surrounded by natural topographic features and remote sanctuaries, this town will lead all travelers to discover the picturesque landscape as if they were in a rural painting..

Here are some tips to help you get into the cultural beauty of the city even more!

Kaeng Nyui Falls

One of Laos’ most stunning waterfalls is Kaeng Nyui. 20–25 minutes by car from Vang Vieng’s eastern town center. In contrast to Luang Prabang’s Kuang Si, which roars during the rainy season, Kaeng Nyui is serene during the dry season. You can enjoy the clear water and the 30-meter water drop while having fun together.

Phangern Mountain

You probably won’t forget the experience of ascending Phangern Mountain to get a panoramic view of Vang Vieng. Select the ideal footwear for you to tackle this challenging climb.

Blue Lagoon

The famous blue lagoon in Vang Vieng, Laos, is also quite affordable and only costs one-seventeenth of what it does in Iceland.

With magical blue waters are feed from an underground spring below. Set on one of the many limestone karsts which cover the landscape it is like being transported to a tropical paradise has made this amazing place to be a well-known tourist attraction. Source: backpackers wanderlust.

Before you can see this stunning pale blue lake, you must make a short trek through a cave on the road to Vang Vieng Blue Lagoon. It’s a wonderful way to awaken in the afternoon and can be incredibly relaxing, especially if you’ve just arrived from dusty Vientiane. It feels like 7th heaven.

Caves rich in Religious & Cultural Colors

Don’t assume that Vang Vieng’s caves are home to only stalactites, stalagmites, and… bats. Pagodas and temples are frequently built in caves in Laos. The caves Tham Loup and Tham Hoi, which each contain a golden Buddha statue that stands majestically among statues of his disciples, as well as an extremely “shimmering” underground lake, best illustrate this habit.

Vang Vieng Walking Street

Every evening, street hawkers selling local handicrafts, elephant print dresses, cheap noodle dishes, and fruit shakes fill Vang Vieng Walking Street. Visit this place to pick up some trinkets or to have dinner at one of the sidewalk tables; a bowl of noodles will run you about 20,000 kip, and a fruit shake, about 10,000.
